"Just finished an amazing meal at La Frida. The flavors are incredible, so fresh, layered, and delicious. We were welcomed with a dish of 4 sauces, allowing us to try each and decide on an entree. Claudia, the owner, is a creative genius and was warm and welcoming. Our server Andrea was knowledgeable, fun, and perfectly guided us through the menu. I didn’t save room for dessert but indulged anyway - the carlota was out of this world."

"Great food with artistic flair to each plate. I came here to Tucson to visit a friend and was told this place has been trending and it didn’t disappoint. The servers were nice and I love that they bring out a sample of all the salsa that you might encounter on the menu before ordering so that you know what the taste will be like. We got to sample the salsa verde, salsa roja, bean salsa, and mole salsa. The portion sizes are really big and worth the price. Definitely would come again!"

"Amazing food and service. We went for a late lunch on Saturday and the wait was over an hour. Luckily there were 2 free seats at the bar. Bartender was friendly. Server provided chips with 4 signature sauces/salsa that she explained. Elote appetizer was marvelous! Very balanced in flavor, not sweet like some can be. Quesabirria tacos and flautas as mains were yummy and too much, so we took some home. Regular lime margarita on rocks also very good. They had a line up of cocktails that looked impressive."

"Really a top notch restaurant, been there a few times, they have good food, good service, cool atmosphere. They don’t take reservations which is kind of a pain, you must be prepared to wait at busy times. Going for an early or late meal is ideal to me because the wait will be lower. Margarita was good, carne asada tacos were good although the meat could be more flavorful, still better than most restaurant tacos. Chicharrones steak was pretty good but definitely has a lot of fat so be aware it is a heavy hitting dish. Las Rebeldes, tuna tartar with avocado and a wonton base was very good, probably the best of the dishes I have tried. The green sauce used in many beans are very good. Costilla de Elote was very good. Las Generalas, birria tacos were ok. Las Traditionales is very good the sauce is great. Parking has been both easy and a pain depending on the day. The lot is small and a little awkward. Do be aware of not parking in the spots reserved for neighboring businesses they seem to be strict about it with multiple signs but it can be confusing when you arrive. For big vehicles or if the parking is a mess you can park in the shopping center parking lot and then walk over."

"We never make it to this part of town so we stopped by and tried this place out. Food was great. Drinks were good. Some a little on the sweet side but that happens. The bacon wrapped peppers with shrimp and cream cheese was delicious. They were huge. We ordered the monthly specials. The Barrio Barbacoa was tasty maybe a little dry but mixing it up and adding salsa and pickled onions saved the dryness for the most part. The Birria tacos were delicious and the consomme satisfied us. The ice cream cake was the best! Highly recommend that cinnamon and vanilla dessert of deliciousness. They gave is samples of the sauces and the mole tasted good.... Will have to come back and try that next time. Our server was attentive and patient with us. Place is small so there was an almost 25 minute wait so plan accordingly!"

"Went there with some family. I got to tell you. everything from the owner coming out to explaining the salsa/ sauce the drinks that we ordered to the food and dessert delicious. The wait was a bit long but well worth it. So don't leave I waited to long to try something close to how my mom would make food for us. the same love and dedication it takes to bring wonderful flavors together. From the chile sauces to the meat seasoning and the presentation. I wanted to take a nap and wake up to eat there again. Skip Amelia and head to fridas if you want authentic mexican cuisine I'm talking home of mexico del rancho, love and passion on a plate. From one chef to another Chef Claudia and your mom Gracias por tu amor en un plato Chef Patti."

"I went 2 nights in a row and both times were amazing. The wait was a little bit long but that’s just cause it’s so popular. Everything was worth the wait, the staff has always been fantastic. The past 2 nights I went I was helped by zulay and Gilbert. Night 1 I had to step out to go take care of something and she made sure my table was taken care of and even when I returned with an extra person she made a point to make sure they were taken care of as well. We ended up staying past closing and the staff made sure to not make us feel rushed or in the way. Night 2 we had went to celebrate 2 birthdays and Gilbert was our server. Gilbert has been our server a couple of times before and he always makes everyone at the table feel welcome and taken care of. With a group of 11 it’s hard to go places for celebrations but he handled our large party like a boss. Drinks were never empty and he was so very friendly. I have always recommended la Frida to people around me but the past 2 nights just put it at the top of my list. Thank you both for making the experience fantastic."

"Phenomenal Mexican place that takes the flavors and colors of Mexican food to an awing level. Food is delicious and beautifully presented and all flavors simply meld and melt on the palate. Really fantastic place for fancy dinners, dates, and family outings all at once. Service is excellent; drink and food orders are taken promptly by the kindliest waiters. The chef herself often walks the restaurant floor and checks in with diners creating such a wonderful feeling of homeliness. Be sure to take a look at the menu of the month. The Magdalena Enchiladas from the regular menu are a must-have, and the custard dessert is a delicious and cooling way to end dinner. Wait for a table can be an 1+ hour due to the popularity of the restaurant, but it is well worth the wait. You can go across the street to the bar next to the Goodwill if you like, but don’t spoil your appetite."
